We’ve secured our first victory of the year! In today’s friendly match, we faced Komárov’s reserve team, and after a hard-fought performance from the entire squad, we came away with a 4-3 win.
For us, this result is the icing on the cake after a demanding winter preseason. The squad, which began to take shape last autumn, showed great character and unity today.
A Strong Core with a Few Guest Appearances
Today’s lineup reflected our philosophy – a solid core of the team complemented by players who have fit in perfectly. Alongside our regular starters, we introduced:
- Two key loan signings who are already an integral part of our locker room and proved their worth on the pitch today.
- A new face in progress: A player who has put in the work with us all winter. We will be finalizing his official transfer to the Patriots very soon.
- A well-deserved reward for youth: A special moment was shared by a 13-year-old talent. He has been training hard with us throughout the entire winter preseason, and today’s start in a Patriots jersey was a reward for his dedication. Although he won’t be playing for us (for now), we at the Patriots want to support everyone who has the drive to improve.
“Friendly matches are about testing tactics, but mainly about the group. Today, we wanted to show appreciation to the guys who stuck it out with us through the freezing winter training sessions, regardless of what’s written on their registration cards. We won as one team,” was the sentiment from the clubhouse after the game.
We would like to thank our opponents for a great test and our fans for their unwavering support. We keep moving forward – the season is just around the corner!
